Gila County's Justice Courts
Gila County has two justice courts, at Globe and at Payson, and the split reflects the county's geography: the two towns sit at opposite ends of a county divided by the Mogollon Rim and mountain roads.
The Payson court is styled a Regional Court rather than a Justice Court on some listings, which occasionally leads people to think Gila has only one. It has two, and both hear landlord and tenant matters.

Above the justice courts' civil jurisdiction limit it belongs in the superior court instead, and below that limit the two share it. The Gila County Superior Court is at 1400 East Ash Street in Globe, sharing the address with the Globe Regional justice court. Payson has a justice court and no superior court, so a larger claim from the north of the county travels down to Globe.

Going in: You go through a metal detector on the way in. Children are not allowed in the courtroom, unless it is a protective order hearing or the child is requested. Visitors are required to pass through metal detectors, notify security if you have a pacemaker or other medical device.
