Cochise County's Justice Courts
Cochise County has six justice courts, one of the larger benches outside the Phoenix and Tucson areas, serving a county that stretches from Benson and Willcox down to the border at Douglas and Bisbee. All six keep the same hours.
Because the courts are spread across widely separated towns, the one nearest you is not necessarily the one that hears a case about your property. Venue follows the property's precinct.
A landlord and tenant case here is normally heard in the justice court for the precinct the property sits in. Above the justice courts' civil jurisdiction limit it belongs in the superior court instead, and below that limit the two share it. A claim above the limit goes to the Cochise County Superior Court, at 100 Quality Hill Road in Bisbee. Only one of the county's six justice courts is in that town, and even that one is a separate building on North Judd Drive.

Getting there: There is a small parking lot in front of the courthouse that is open for the public. The overflow parking lot is located across 5th street. Parking is free.
Going in: You go through a metal detector on the way in. Children may come into the courtroom if they are well behaved. Visitors are required to pass through metal detectors, please tell security if you have a pacemaker.
